Growing up in Toronto, I've love all kinds of music. Listening to my dad's old records, it made me appreciate music alot more. I think because of my dad's range of music, I couldn't be like my friends and listen to just one type of music. That's why with my podcast, it be a wide range of music. I have been making mix tapes for as long as I can remember. It's funny because back then I didn't have a mixer but I would make "tapes" for my friends until I could afford one. When I bought my first turntables and mixer, I was in dj heaven! Made, old school, and R&B tapes for everyone..didn't care just loved music. Never entered the DJ scene to the masses..because I never felt I was good enough to compete with all the other DJ's out there. Plus of course there's that added pressure of always being at the top of your game, knowing the latest grooves, don't ever miss a beat. Just like a news story you have to be the first one on the scene. But with me working and everything I just could'nt guarantee that I give all that commitment. Since we have the podcast medium, I feel I could be back in that zone. And maybe I will go out and "just do it" and show the world that I do have skills. Have come back with avengence :) 4 complications of music that I have created and like to share with the masses. My latest creations I've titled THE OTHERSIDE... WHY? The humbling factor for me was when the "music died". The hardest for was of course the death of Micheal Jackson, I mean regardless of his past or any other controversy that he's been part of, there is no denying his HUGE impact in music, and some people also don't realize this, but also his HUGE contribution in giving millions of dollars to the world. The "Guinness Book Of Records" name Michael Jackson as the pop star who supports the most charitable organizations!! Look it up. DJ AM after surviving a plane crash you would think that things were looking up for him, that's why it totally shook me, not just shocked me that he died. One of the greatest DJ's of this time period...GONE! And lastly for me Haydain Neale of JACKSOUL a gifted and incredible singer, with such a soulfoul voice. He was from Hamilton, Ontario, and he made Canada proud. When I first heard his single "Can' Stop" a few years ago, I knew he was here to stay. He was just getting better from an accident he suffered and knowing that he had cancer that alot of fans didn't know, even me, was hard to swallow. He will be totally missed. And i'm sure there were many others that happened but I named the ones that influenced me, which had me thinking what it would be like on the "OTHERSIDE"?? Where are they now? There music will always be with us in mind and in spirit. RIP. Hope you enjoy.
